A brief explanations: How it came for us to make these Nishikigoi Flags
Dear Sirs and Madams,
The Chuetsu area in Niigata is the biggest area in Nishikigoi production and well know as a birth place of Nishikigoi.
Many Nishikigoi breeders have engaged in producing high quality Nishikigoi as a traditional and local industry.
We had very big earthquakes hit us on 23rd, October, 2004. It was five years ago.
Just after the earthquakes, thanks to the aid of many organizations and individuals, we have started to rebuild Nishikigoi industry again.
Last year, due to the world wide depression and higher exchange rate of Japanese yen had hit on Nishikigoi export industry in Niigata again.
Under these circumstances, we have come to a conclusion that we have to take some actions to appeal the recovery of Nishikigoi industry of Niigata in order to cope with the current situations.
So we applied for Niigata prefecture grant project and we received a grant.
With this grant, we would like to advertise Nishikigoi to both domestic and overseas market and to use this project as one of the means of recovery for Nishikigoi industry in Niigata.
We hope that these flags will be used to promote Nishikigoi in both domestic and overseas event at many places in the world.
Lastly we would like to present these Nishikigoi Flags as a token of our deepest gratitude for the heat-warming supports we received from many groups, organizations and individuals from all over the world, at the difficult times of the earthquakes. And hope this "Visit Niigata Nishikigoi world flag campaign" will promote the international friendship between you and us.
